?? COVID UPDATE - Tuesday October 13
?? If you need to understand how well Australia is doing, consider that we currently have 232 active cases nationwide. There's currently 2,633,182 active cases in the US, 838,830 in India, 609,872 in France and 457,530 in Brazil. Spain and the UK have actually given up on counting active cases, although they've reported more than 72,000 new cases between them in just the past three days. Not good at all.
?? There were 13 new cases reported in NSW over the past 24 hours but the situation's not quite as bad as it sounds.
?? Of those 13, six are returned overseas travellers already in quarantine. Of the remaining seven, five are members of the same family and have been isolating at home, and two are doctors who worked at a Lakemba medical centre (the cluster identified yesterday).
?? The Hunter-New England region has now gone 67 days without a locally-acquired case.
?? There were 12 new cases reported in Victoria over the past 24 hours and one death. Still waiting on today's figures from other states.
?? Australia's death toll is now 899, with the NSW toll still at 55 and Victoria's at 811.
?? The number of active cases in NSW is 24. There are 186 active cases in Victoria.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
