Great to have the NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance MP in town today to officially open the new-look Wyee Station.

It was equally good to have long-time and well-known Wyee locals Terry Pryor and Russell Deaves on hand to do the honours. These two guys are the epitome of the word 'community'.

They've seen enormous change in their town over the decades and they're about to see a lot more.

My thanks to them and Minister Constance who got to work on this project two minutes after I first raised it with him.

The new station, by the way, now has lift access to all the platforms, better security, better platform facilities and new drop-off zones on both sides of the station. It makes life a lot easier not just for the disabled, frail and aged, but parents with prams and travellers carrying luggage.

The lifts have been operating for a few weeks now because builders Gartner Rose were able to get the job done ahead of schedule.

Great result all around!

By the way, we didn't miss the opportunity to talk to the Minister about a few other local matters while he was here, including access upgrades to other local stations, and the multi-deck car parks I've been pushing for at Morisset and Cardiff. More on those soon, hopefully!
