A couple of quick updates on COVID-19. Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced this morning that current social restrictions will be slightly eased later this week.

From Friday, two people (plus their children) will be allowed to visit your home, and vice-versa. I'm expecting to hear about the partial lifting of other restrictions over the next few days.

This comes as the number of new cases continues to slow, which is fantastic news. Only two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Hunter-New England region over the past four days.

I also want to point out that while older people are more vulnerable to the virus, it's the 20-29 year old age group which has recorded the highest number of confirmed cases in the region by a considerable number.

Please continue to stay safe and observe the social distancing rules, or we'll end up back where we started.
