COVID-19: What you need to know

Non-essential travel to regional NSW towns and remote communities must be cancelled and Easter holidaymakers should indefinitely postpone their visits.

From today, Tuesday 31 March 2020:
?? You must stay home unless you’re going to work (where you can’t work remotely); school or an educational institution; shop for food and essentials; get medical care or supplies, or exercise.
?? Do not gather in public except for members of the same household or where the gathering is essential for work or education. This also excludes shops and shopping centres (which you may attend with 1 other person).
?? Playgrounds, skate parks and outside gyms in public places will be closed.
?? There is a 6 month moratorium on evictions.
?? People aged 70+, Indigenous people aged 50+ and those with existing health conditions or comorbidities aged 60+, should stay at home as much as possible.

Public health orders have been issued to protect the community and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Breaching these orders (under the Public Health Act 2010) is a criminal offence and attracts heavy penalties.
?? For individuals, the maximum penalty is $11,000, or imprisonment for 6 months, or both and a further $5,500 penalty may apply for each day the offence continues. NSW Police Force may also issue on-the-spot fines of $1,000 for an offence.
?? For organisations, the maximum penalty is $55,000 and a further $27,500 penalty may apply for each day the offence continues.

All returning travellers are required to be quarantined at designated facilities (such as a hotel) for 14 days in the town or city they fly into, instead of self-isolating at home. Travellers will be transported directly to designated facilities.

??The Australian Government has released an official app with the latest advice and info you need to know about #coronavirus. To access this, all you need to do is search "Coronavirus Australia" in the Apple App Store or on Google Play and download the app.
??A messaging service on WhatsApp has also been introduced for you to use. You can access this by heading to aus.gov.au/whatsapp on your phone or downloading WhatsApp, and following the prompts.
